Dr Tim Senior

GP | Medical Advisor Aboriginal Health, RACGP

I practice, teach, develop policy and write about general practice and primary care, particularly its role in working effectively in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

In 2024 I completed a Churchill Fellowship to visit groups of GPs at the Deep End in England, Scotland and Ireland to investigate high quality general practice in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.

My primary role is a GP in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. I am also the Medical Advisor in RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. I am the Chair of the Poverty sand Health Specific Interest Group at the RACGP, and set up the Climate and Environmental Specific Interest Group.

I write a regular column for the British Journal of General Practice, and write regularly for Croakey Health Media. I wrote the mental health chapter for the National guide to preventive healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and won the inaugural Gavin Mooney Memorial Essay Competition for an essay on climate change and health equity.
